Whether you’re looking for a cooking class, a Thanksgiving-inspired fun run, or sparkles and lights to coax you into the Christmas season, Amelia Island has it all.

With many events close to vacation rentals on Amelia Island, you won’t have to go far to enjoy what our little island has to offer. Here’s a list of some fun-filled and exciting Amelia Island November events to fill your schedule.

Farmer’s Market Tour & Class

Location: The Amelia Island Culinary Academy, 25 South 3rd Street, Fernandina Beach

A Sunday morning trip to the farmer’s market just got a little more interesting. Join Chef Bill of The Amelia Island Culinary Academy for a walk to the farmer’s market to pick up fresh produce.

This renowned chef will help you pick the best produce and right ingredients – and take them home (or to the Academy, rather) and prepare them, with dips and sauces that help bring out the fresh, natural flavors.

A true farm-to-table experience, you’ll be involved in every step of the process. The tours are on November 4, 11, 18, and 25, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $40 per person.

Gingerbread Pirate Ship Launch

Location: Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, 4750 Amelia Island Pkwy

Welcome in the holiday season with this Christmas event, unique to Amelia Island. The launch of the S.S. Amelia, a 17-foot edible ship made with 600 pieces of gingerbread and topped with fondant pirates and a chocolate cannon, will happen towards the end of the month.

This culinary masterpiece will wow children and adults alike, and offers a great family photo op. Catch the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. before you head to the ship launch.

Festivities include refreshments, entertainment by the local Chamber Music Festival Brass Quintet, Santa’s arrival, and fireworks. Add some Christmas cheer to your stay at Amelia Island vacation rentals by checking out these family-friendly holiday events.

The event takes place November 22, 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. The cost? Free!

Turkey Trot 5k Run

Location: Racquet Park at Omni Amelia Island Plantation, 102 Racquet Park Drive

The Turkey Trot gives offers something a healthy alternative from all the food-filled Amelia Island November events that invite you to eat, drink, and be merry. Runoff your family feast at the Thanksgiving Day fun run (or walk!) at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort.

This family-friendly course winds through the tree-filled resort, starting and ending at the Racquet Park. Participants in this time-chipped run will receive a race T-shirt (not guaranteed for day-of registrations) and post-race awards.

A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the McArthur Family YMCA. No pets or bicycles allowed on the course. Pre-registered runners can collect their race packet at the Racquet Park Conference Room on November 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. Day-of registration and packet pick-up will take place between 6:30 and 7:45 a.m. before the race.

The event takes place November 23, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost is $25 per adult; $15 per child (10 & under).

Amelia Island Museum of History Pub Crawl

The popular Amelia Island Museum of History will be hosting a pub crawl on November 30th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm – one of several throughout the year.

The crawl starts at 17 S. Front Street and takes you through downtown Fernandina Beach’s historical sites and gives you the chance to visit four establishments, meet locals and visitors, and enjoy a drink at each venue.

Participants must be 21 years of age or older with ID, and the cost of the crawl is $25. Reservations are required, and you can grab your spot by emailing thea@ameliamuseum.org.
